Our Approach to Student Success

Never before has the need to help students cross the finish line been more important. Every day, we work with leading academic institutions around the world to help students complete their goals. With this in mind, all of our efforts, including the software solutions and services that we provide to the community, must be a reflection of the following set of principles:

  • Engage Students with the Institution. The solution must offer a personalized invitation to the diverse set of support resources available including access to advisors, tutors, counselors, instructors, disability specialist, and others.

  • Simplicity and Ease of Use. The solution must be easy to use, convenient to access, and efficient to administer in order to get students, faculty, staff and administrators to become active participants in the process.

  • Leverage Investments. The solution must respect the time and money put into existing campus systems, including learning management and student information systems, recognizing that valuable information already exists in disparate physical and virtual locations that can be leveraged towards the goal of helping students succeed.

  • Remove Silos. The solution must build awareness and respect amongst and between instructors, student services, and other departments who help students. It often "takes a village" to help a student and everyone needs to have a common platform on which to work together towards a common goal.

  • Promote Research. The solution must be based on what we know works from the research and literature. It must also generate research data for each campus to continuously improve for the future.

  • Foster Community. The solution must be supported by a community of institutions all tackling similar challenges, experimenting on new approaches together, and sharing best practices.

  • Empower the Student. The solution must offer help to students, but recognize that ultimately students share responsibility for their future and must play an active role in their success.

  • Protect Student Privacy. The solution must ensure the security and privacy of all appropriate data, protecting student privacy and respecting the institution's responsibility to ensure that privacy.
