An Overview of Our Company

Help Graduate More Students

Starfish Retention Solutions, Inc. is a software company founded in 2007 for the purpose of enabling more students to graduate.  A wealth of benefits results from more students graduating:

  • Students experience more successful and fulfilling lives.
  • Institutions impact society more deeply and run more cost effectively.
  • Society develops stronger economies which fuel larger tax bases.

An Experienced Team with a Powerful Vision

The Starfish team is comprised of former Blackboard Inc. veterans looking to deliver innovative technology to enhance student success programs and dramatically improve education outcomes.  Our core beliefs infuse everything we do from the design of our software, to the recommendations we give to our clients to the way we manage our company:

  • Live a mission that makes the world better.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to arrive at better results.
  • Apply research and data to drive better decisions.

From Software To A Network Of People

With our roots in enterprise software, our ultimate goal is to power a network of providers and students collaborating on student success.  Through the deployment of its software, Starfish enables institutions to create an online student success environment.  This environment will facilitate the delivery of programs such as academic advising, instructor office hours, tutoring, mentoring, and others – with the aim of improving retention and graduation rates.  In addition, the Starfish system provides valuable analytics that enable institutions to refine their programs for continual improvement.

There are many ways colleges, states, policy groups, and students themselves can work together to further student success.  This collaboration is much more effective when one can easily and securely share relevant data.  As the Starfish community grows, plans are in development to facilitate intra-institutional and cross-institutional collaboration to further improve delivery and assessment of student programs.
